Prof. Adriano Penedo de Athayde Vallim brings together 30 years in technology and 25 years of forensic practice, a singular career built at the intersection of technology, law and business administration. A forensic expert in computer forensics (technology), forensic handwriting and questioned document examination (analysis of signatures and of physical and digital documents) and forensic phonetics (speaker identification), he combines technical, academic and institutional credentials that place him among the most complete references in the field in Brazil.
His court practice spans the State Courts of Justice TJAM, TJBA, TJDFT, TJMG, TJPB, TJPR, TJRS, TJSC and TJSP (São Paulo State Court of Justice), where registration no. 147 places him among the first forensic experts on a roster that today holds thousands of professionals, as well as the TRTs (Labour Courts) of the 2nd and 3rd Regions. He served as an ad hoc expert at the 4th D.I.G. (Economic and Property Crimes by Electronic Means) of DEIC/SP, the São Paulo State Department of Criminal Investigations, a unit that today corresponds to the Police Station for Offences Committed by Electronic Means of the Cybercrime Division, and works as a Judicial Mediator and Conciliator recognised by the National Council of Justice.
On the international technical side, he served as a Cellebrite Certified Instructor for Latin America, a credential that placed him among the few professionals on the continent qualified at the time to certify other specialists on that mobile device forensic platform. He is a member of HTCIA (High Technology Crime Investigation Association).
Academically, he is a postgraduate lecturer at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, on the Computer Forensics and the Cyber Security and Intelligence programmes. His education includes postgraduate degrees from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), from Escola Superior de Guerra (CEPE 61st / ADESG), from Universidade Mackenzie, from Faculdade Impacta and from IPOG, plus a Certificate in Global Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, in Arizona, USA.
He is the author of the book Forense Computacional e Criptografia, published by Editora SENAC in 2019 and available as an eBook. He currently coordinates the Computer Forensics Office of the Digital Law Committee of OAB/SP (Brazilian Bar Association, São Paulo chapter), is a member of the Digital Technology Excellence Group of CRA-SP and State Director of ABRASECI for São Paulo, and co-authored the OAB/SP guide on the safe use of social networks.
